What Kaseo receives
- The Figma links you paste and the pages you select.
- Layer text, frame structure, and rendered images from those selected files.
- The project facts, interview answers, chat messages, and edit requests you provide.
- An encrypted Figma access and refresh token after you connect your account.
- Your email when you sign in, plus the name and profile photo you choose to provide.
- Your notification preferences and records of when and how your email preference changed.
- Your email and referral details if you join the Kaseo waitlist.
- Your name, email, and delivery choice when you request a finished-study email.
How it is used
Selected screens, project context, and conversation history are processed through OpenAI's API and, when enabled, Anthropic's Claude API to understand the work, answer questions, and write or revise the case study. Waitlist emails are also sent to Resend so Kaseo can keep your place and send a welcome email.
If you ask Kaseo to email your finished study, your name, email, study link, and feedback link are sent to Resend for that one delivery email. Unticking the option still lets you open the study without requesting an email.
The emailed study link contains a random view-only key so it can open on another device. Kaseo stores only a one-way hash of that key. The link cannot edit or regenerate your study, but anyone you share it with can view the study.
Kaseo uses the single Figma permission file_content:read. It cannot edit, comment on, or publish your Figma files, and it does not call Figma's project endpoints to list the rest of your account.
What is kept
Kaseo keeps the approved screens, project facts, answers, chat history, evidence summaries, quality-review findings, finished study versions, source Figma links, run status, name, email, delivery preference, and basic cost records so you can view and revise your case study. For emailed study links, it keeps only the link key's one-way hash. It removes the full file inventory, the full interview-question file, and unselected candidate material after the study is finished. It keeps a short list of the screen names it considered (page and frame names, sizes, and whether each was picked and why) so we can improve how Kaseo picks screens. That list holds no images or screen text. Evidence summaries retain the questions paired with your answers so later edits can stay grounded.
Figma tokens are encrypted on Kaseo's server and remain there until you disconnect Figma from Kaseo. You can also revoke Kaseo from your Figma account settings.
Your account and email preferences
We use your email to sign you in and connect saved case studies to your account, so you can return on another device. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. If you choose Google sign-in, we use Google's verified account identifier, email, and profile information to connect your account.
Email product updates are off by default. You can turn them on or off in Settings, separately from in-app updates, or unsubscribe from an update email. Signing in, paying for a plan, or joining the waitlist does not opt your account into product-update emails.
We record your preference, its wording version, and when and how it changed. Optional account updates use Resend, and we check provider unsubscribe and suppression records before sending. Sending records help us avoid duplicate messages. Turning updates off does not stop sign-in codes or study emails you request.
Plans and billing
Where paid plans are available, Stripe handles checkout and subscription management. Kaseo keeps billing identifiers, verified subscription status, billing-period dates, and study and AI-edit usage needed to manage your plan.
Canceling or downgrading a plan keeps your existing case studies, versions, manual editing, and share links. Deleting your account is different: It removes your work and cancels any recurring subscription immediately. Stripe billing records and receipt emails remain separate from your Kaseo workspace. Contact support with billing or refund questions.
Referral links
When you open a referral link, Kaseo remembers the first valid referral for 30 days using a secure browser cookie. If you create a new account in that browser during that time, Kaseo records which account referred you. The referrer sees totals, not your name or email. Opening a link or signing up does not earn a reward.
You can export your referral summary in Settings. Deleting an account removes its referral links and account relationships.
Your choices
Settings lets you change notification preferences, disconnect Figma, export your data, or delete your account. You can also revoke Kaseo from your Figma account settings. For help or a data-removal request, visit the support page.
Deleting your account stops published links and removes your account, saved studies, images, and draft history. Copies already downloaded by you or someone else are not removed. We retain opaque ownership records to revoke old access, and a one-way identity record with consumed Free allowances to prevent a new account from resetting the same free offer.
